About me

Working together

If your goal is to create balance and build a better relationship with yourself, I offer find a quiet sanctuary to explore yourself in together, so you can start to feel comfortable with what you have to offer life (and what it has to offer you). If this sounds like it suits you and what you're looking for, please get in touch.

What's counselling like with me?

I work with you as an individual to offer warmth and understanding, as well as information and education to help support you to discover what you want your life to be. I offer time that is yours, filled with safety, kindness, help and humour. Whatever you need to bring, however deep the sadness, pain or worry goes, I will be with you. I am a qualified and registered counsellor and also have an accredited psychology degree, which means we have the benefit of being able to collaborate and pull in from different ways of working to find the way that feels best for you.
My specialist areas are Self Esteem and High Sensitivity, which can weave into all areas of our lives including struggles with anxiety, depression and relationships.

How would you like to work together?

I offer Face to Face sessions in Dorchester from a small, friendly office with plenty of parking space outside and privacy. I also am qualified to offer telephone and Zoom sessions if these would suit you, meaning we can connect in the comfort of your own home.

We work out together what you would like and if you want to commit to a certain amount that's ok, and if you want to work in an open ended way that's also ok.

Contact me

If I sound like a good fit for you, please email me and we can arrange a time to chat. I offer a free 15-20 minute call to talk about what you want and how we can work together. My email is sunlightcounselling20@gmail.com. Reach out and see if we can move forward together.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
