About me

If you're feeling anxious, angry, depressed, or need to address a particularly challenging issue in your life, I can deliver a bespoke programme of therapeutic counselling. This will afford you opportunities to challenge yourself, build confidence and develop fresh outlooks and perspectives--for the benefit of finding new meaning, purpose and direction in your life.

My counselling style is primarily 'person-centred'. This means I can offer sensitive flexibility for young people and adults who feel they'd benefit from a less structured and more exploratory alternative to solution focused and CBT programmes (as typically offered by schools, employers and the NHS). I'm a former seafarer, and doctoral researcher of art and philosophy.

My maritime and PhD background is reflected through my counselling style. This 'style' places particular emphasis on the ways that journeying, art and creativity can reinvigorate and recalibrate mind, body and soul. Formerly, I have worked as a therapist of children and young adults at Off The Record, which is a mental health social movement operating in Bristol. In other therapeutic work, I've delivered support for adults experiencing grief and loss, through my work for a nationwide bereavement support charity.
