About me
Are you struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, addictions, relationships, low self-esteem, , bereavement, disorders? Finding it hard to cope, feeling stuck, confused, and uncertain what to do without someone who can listen and understand you?
During challenging times you may need someone just to talk to and listen to you or just be quiet with. Often this isn’t possible with your partner, family or friends and you may need to get a different perspective from someone who is not part of your life.
I am a qualified and very experienced Psychotherapist and Counsellor, I work with individuals, couples, younger and older people in a safe, peaceful and comfortable environment.
I offer face-to-face, video and telephone counselling with individuals and couples, providing help and support with life issues. Importantly to help with coping, increasing personal awareness, understanding and making positive life changes.
The quality of the therapeutic relationship is central to positive outcomes in my counselling work.
I will build a trusting therapeutic relationship and work with you safely and confidentially to help you understand your past, deal with present difficulties and explore your hopes. This can be a time of self discovery and can involve drawing on your own personal strengths and resources to bring hope and a more positive future and reaching your life goals.
Our work can involve exploring and sharing the past, present and future within our counselling relationship. I always aim to provide a place of safety which can encourage you to share your sometimes difficult or uncomfortable feelings, thinking and behaviours. Although difficult experiences in your past can’t be changed we can work together on how these impact your life now and learn how to process any difficult emotions that remain with these. The focus here is on the ‘here and now’ helping you to cope and be in control of your life
I adopt an integrative theoretical approach to my counselling using a range of counselling models which include: Solution Focussed Brief Therapy (SFBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy, Psychoanalysis, Transactional Analysis, Gestalt, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy and elements of Inner Child Therapy. My approach is eclectic. I always adapt my skills to meet your individual needs rather than you adapting to fit my way of working.
I offer a non-judgemental approach, without discrimination on any grounds -sex, race, religion, class, nationality, disability, sexual orientation or gender identity. My approach will vary depending on your specific needs , I tailor my counselling work to my client’s needs which is the most important thing. I am particularly experienced in working with clients:

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
