About me

I offer a comfortable and confidential space where together we can look at your life free of expectation or judgement. It may be that you want to work through childhood or relationship issues. Perhaps you are undergoing an important change in your life or are confused by your options. Maybe you are experiencing prolonged anxiety, depression, emptiness, or a loss of meaning or purpose. Therapy can help you make sense of your situation and help you live a more fulfilling life. It can give you new tools to handle conflict and challenge, and free you from behaviours that hold you back. Together we can explore whatever issues arise, working towards such themes as freedom, forgiveness, acceptance, security, growth, meaning, clarity, authenticity, spontaneity, and joy. Life is worth living well, and this means a life feeling grounded and motivated. It means living without guilt, shame and anxiety at every turn, and instead a sense of inner peace and direction. I believe in removing expectation, so often routed in the demands of others, and instead aligning ourselves with our values and what we feel inside. Change comes about by clearing a path to where we want to be, not forcing our way through to it. I have a special interest in working with vulnerability, relationship issues and Boarding School Syndrome. I also offer Dynamic Running Therapy:

http://dynamicrunningtherapy.co.uk/ A fusion of running/walking (decide by the client) combined with regular therapy. I look forward to hearing from you.

Training, qualifications & experience

Hello, I'm a fully trained counselling psychotherapist and I offer private individual therapy on an ongoing or short-term basis. I have 15 years of experience as a therapist together with a life-long interest in people and the human struggle. You can find my details on their website bacp.co.uk

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
