MBACP 1st class degree in counselling and psychotherapy

About me

I understand that life can be challenging, complicated and painful, and sometimes we don't know where to turn. It can be hard to share your thoughts and feelings with family or friends, but you still need someone by your side who can help. I would love to be that person for you.

Why me?

You might come to me because you want to make changes in your life. Because you want to understand yourself or others more. Or because you simply wish to be heard and valued.

I offer a genuine, caring and compassionate relationship. I get that feeling of desperately trying to "get it right," the overwhelm, the big feelings, the negative voice in your head that just seems to get louder, and the "something feels off" without knowing quite what that is.

I typically work with (though this isn't exhaustive):

Neurodivergence
Anxiety and depression
Relationship or family difficulties (individual work)
Burnout and work stress
Trauma
Self-esteem, confidence, boundaries and people-pleasing
Bereavement and menopause

I have particular experience working with people who are neurodivergent (autism, ADHD, AuDHD, and others), including those late-diagnosed or self-identifying; we can explore what that means for you. It's not about fitting into a mould; it's about understanding how your brain works and building a life that works with it, not against it, whilst being aware of related experiences like rejection sensitive dysphoria (RSD) and pathological demand avoidance (PDA, or otherwise known as Persistent Drive for Autonomy) if they show up for you.

If you're a parent, carer, or partner of someone neurodivergent, we can also explore how that relationship affects you. And as a qualified ADHD coach, I can bring in practical tools for things like executive dysfunction and task paralysis alongside the counselling work.

Whatever's brought you here - neurodivergent or not - the same applies: there's no mould to fit, just your own way of making sense of things.

About you

Is life feeling heavy in a way you can't always explain? A tiredness that sleep doesn't touch. A sense that you've been trying to get everything "right," but still don't feel like yourself.

Maybe you're overwhelmed, lonely, or burnt out, but you don't want to be a burden, so you've learned to keep it in. Maybe your relationships feel like a struggle, or are you a perfectionist, or someone who gives a lot and is tired of not getting the same back. Maybe you just want to find your voice, hold the boundaries you admire in others, or simply have a space to be heard.

You don't need the right words. You don't need to know what's "wrong." You just need somewhere to bring it, a space to be curious, to slow down enough to hear yourself think.

About therapy

Therapy can feel like a leap into the unknown, whether it's your first time or not. I've been there myself, and I know how scary - and brave - that leap can be.

Talking helps us understand the different parts of ourselves. It's a place to be messy and human, to be understood, and to hear yourself, alongside someone there to help you unravel tangled thoughts, hold big feelings, and heal.

We'll go at your pace, with room to stop, pause, and breathe as we make sense of things together.

If any of this sounds like you, I'd love to hear from you.

I offer a free 20-minute call to get to know each other, answer any questions, and help you decide if I'm the right fit, or you're welcome to book a paid session with no obligation to continue.

Where and when?

I work from the Cranberry Wellbeing Centre in Eastleigh, with free off-road parking, minutes from the M27 and M3, with excellent public transport links. The centre is quiet and discreet, and my room is sensory-friendly. Online and telephone sessions are also available. Sessions are usually around 50 minutes, but we can adjust the length if needed.

I work Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, with flexibility for shift workers or varying schedules; sessions don't need to be the same day or time each week. Therapy usually works best weekly, especially at the start, but if that's not possible for you, we can talk about what will.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a first-class degree in person-centred counselling and psychotherapy and am an experienced therapist. I have previously worked in bereavement  and with a charity offering long-term counselling to people with a range of experiences.

I frequently attend extra training, which includes, but is not an exhaustive list:

  • Trauma
  • Being Neurodivergent
  • Relationship issues
  • Difficult childhoods
  • Abuse
  • Anxiety
  • Self-harm
  • Menopause
  • Exploring our childhood

I am also a qualified ADHD coach and can integrate certain aspects into our work.

I am also a registered member of the BACP and abide by their ethical framework, and am fully insured.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
