About me

Hello and welcome to my Counselling Directory profile, I'm Tracey and I am a fully qualified person-centred therapist, I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.  I work online and in person at the Beverley Counselling and Psychotherapy Centre. I understand how difficult it can sometimes be to take that first step and be open about your thoughts and feelings, by looking for help you are already one step closer to feeling better.

I trained as a person-centred counsellor although my approach is more integrative now as it allows me to ensure your recovery journey is personal to you. I also work in Transactional Analysis to work at a deeper relational level. If you are looking for someone to support you I can offer warmth, empathy and non-judgement in a safe and confidential space.

I have over 15 years experience of supporting young people and adults with varying levels of mental health need, from mild to diagnosed complex mental health conditions, including amongst others; anxiety, depression, low mood, recent trauma, childhood trauma, bereavement, loss of identity, abuse, breakdown of relationships, disassociation, health anxiety, family dynamics and stress.

I am happy to have an informal chat so we can decide together if I am the best therapist for you.

As a registered member of the BACP my practice is in line with their code of conduct and ethical framework.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
