About me

I am a qualified psychoanalytic psychotherapist with over twelve years' experience in the private and charity sectors as well as the NHS. Working with stress, depression, anger-management, low mood, anxiety, loss, workplace issues, addiction, trauma and abuse across the intersectionalities of gender, race, class and sexual orientation.  I am confident I can work with you to find a place of positive change in your life with whatever issues you may bring.

You may be bringing live issues, longstanding concerns and old wounds, a wish to make changes in your life or the problem may not be clear. Perhaps relationships are unsatisfactory, you are stressed, or too many aspects of life feel overwhelming. There may be abuse and trauma in your story or you need to discuss a recent loss or problem at work.  Some issues respond well to a few sessions, more can be achieved in the longer term if you wish. I offer short and long-term talking therapy for individuals either face-to-face, online or by phone.

My approach is compassionate, non-judgemental and draws on practical and theoretical experience. Above all it is about listening, and working with you to find relevant and pragmatic interventions designed to give you a fresh understanding of your patterns of thinking and behaviour. This can support you in replacing old responses with new ones that improve your mood, relationships and life opportunities.

Please email me to arrange a convenient time to have a no obligations chat about what you are looking for and how I think I can help.

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Other areas of counselling I deal with

I recommend an initial 20 minute phone call that is free of charge. If you wish to progress further we can arrange an initial session of 50 minutes which I can gather some information about what brings you to therapy and what you would like to achieve. You can get a sense of how I work and it is also an opportunity for you to ask questions.

I have some flexibility for appointment timings that can be discussed during the first session.
