About me

Hello,

I am Sara. I am a Psychodynamic Psychotherapist based in central London, offering face-to-face and online sessions.

Sometimes life as a sensible human being can become a tough journey, leaving you feeling lost. Whether you are facing a persistent, tiny matter that doesn't seem to resolve or feeling a sense of being stuck, trapped in romantic relationships or grappling with anxiety and loneliness, therapy can help you delve into these feelings.

As a Psychodynamic Psychotherapist, I will sit with you in these moments. Sit without trying to change, fix or rescue.

I would create a safe space where your unique experiences can be observed and attentively listened to. Together, we will trace the patterns of your early life and gain insight into the interweaves of your past and present, wishes and conflicts, behaviors and impulses.

This exploration will equip you to unravel all the strands and let you discover greater freedom in life.

Training, qualifications & experience

Times to time we need a space. A space that is ours, a space where we exist. A space where we can be.

I compare my Practice to "Human Mind Archeology"; a remarkable time to explore how your symptoms and suffering of the present are shaped by your life history and unconscious mind.

I trained at the University of London, a respected Institute for therapists. I hold a BA Degree in Psychosocial Studies and an MSc Degree in Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy accredited by BACP.

My approach is guided by a decade of experience in the field of mental health support. As well as my psychotherapeutic practice, I have worked with adults and young people in social care settings.

I offer 50-minute sessions, scheduled on a weekly regular basis.

My sessions can be either on a short or long-term contract. We will arrange this depending on what your needs are.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

If you think of therapy, feel free to contact me by email.

At the beginning, I provide a complimentary phone consultation of 20 minutes to briefly get to know what you need help with and for you to ask any questions about the therapy process.

We will then arrange an assessment session of 90 minutes: a chance for us to introduce ourselves, find what brings you to therapy, and define what you would like to get out of it. This will assist us in deciding if we align well and help me see if I am in a position to help.

If we were to work together, we would agree on a time that works for both of us and meet for the first session.

I work with a broad range of life issues including relationships, low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, loss, trauma, and addictions. My specialties are working among difficulties faced by LGBTQ+ communities, and supporting people presenting neurodiversity and learning disabilities. I work in a confidential space free from judgments, embodied with curiosity, empathy and insight.
