About me

If you have proactively taken steps to find my profile then you are in the right place. Starting counselling can feel daunting; I am experienced at creating a safe, calm and non-judgmental environment. Together we can explore whatever it is that prompts you to begin counselling.

You might be feeling personally challenged with one particular issue or you might not be sure where to start. Counselling is a collaborative process and together we will identify and agree on areas where most help is needed.

I have found counselling to be beneficial in my own life and I look forward to guiding you on your own journey. Talking to someone independent and impartial can enable you to see your situation from a fresh perspective. I can help you to recognise your inner and external resources enabling you to realise your full potential.

To book a free intro call (lasting up to 15 minutes) please get in touch.

I have availability for new clients on Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday afternoons with some limited evening appointments Tuesday - Thursday.

Training, qualifications & experience

I offer an integrative counselling approach tailoring my practice for each client by using elements of person-centred, CBT and Gestalt therapy. I have experience with a range of issues including but not limited to: anxiety, depression, stress, domestic abuse, relationship issues, loneliness, grief and loss. With experience of counselling adults from diverse backgrounds and ages I also deliver counselling in schools to children and young people.

I am a registered member of the BACP and am bound by their professional ethical code. I also hold an enhanced Disclosure and Barring DBS certificate. My practice is GDPR compliant and I welcome diversity of all kinds.

I am qualified and experienced in delivering counselling remotely on the telephone and via video conferencing. I am currently offering remote sessions only. I offer short, medium and long-term counselling. Sessions last 50 minutes.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
