About me

Whether you have had counselling before or not, I understand from experience that daunting feeling of not knowing where to begin. Taking those first steps can be scary but also incredibly brave. Life can feel challenging and we often feel alone when dealing with stressful situations. During our time together, you will be seen, heard and understood.

I would describe my approach as warm, empathetic and safe. I can offer you a non-judgemental space to work through any past or current difficulties you may be experiencing. We will take the sessions at your pace and can work together either short-term or long term.

My experience involves working with trauma in both adults and young people who have experienced a range of difficulties. I have volunteered at charities/agencies who work with survivors of domestic abuse, sexual abuse and/or sexual assault. I appreciate how it takes time to build that trust in a professional relationship and will offer you the patience, a listening ear and empathy whilst you explore this.

Counselling is a personal experience and I hope by offering you the time and space you need, that you will find yourself on a journey of trust, resilience and recovery. Let’s take do this together, one step at a time.

I offer online counselling sessions which can be via a video or phone call. Please contact me if you have any questions or would like to arrange an initial session.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
