About me

When you enter my counselling room you will be met with compassion, curiosity and a genuine passion to support you through your problems no matter how big or small they seem. Your problems matter and so do you. I will endeavour to hold that space for you where you are met with empathy, acceptance and my authentic self- tailoring my counselling to suit you as an individual so you too feel you can be your authentic self. I have worked with a diverse group of people in terms of age, gender, religion, ethnicity and professions as well as a wide range of issues such as bereavement, loss of self, abuse, self-worth and body-image, carers and chronic illness.

You are at the centre of this therapeutic encounter and you deserve to be heard, to be understood and you deserve the opportunity for positive change. The therapy room is a harmonious place of exploration, thinking and feeling about what has gone on for you from a place of great depth, as I support you through a part of your journey whilst empowering you to continue that journey autonomously, feeling fulfilled and contented.

If you would like to find out more about how we can work together please feel free to give me a quick call, email me or drop me a text. You can also book an introductory call where I offer a free 30 min chat so we can see if we are a good fit to work together.

Training, qualifications & experience

-I have achieved a BTEC level 5 Professional Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling as well as both level 2 and level 3 in counselling skills.

-BA degree in Sociology, culture and Media.

-Worked in the area of special educational needs

-I understand how hindering society can be for the growth of the individual and I believe this makes me a well-rounded counsellor with the understanding of societal and cultural pressures as well as the knowledge and experience of psychological wellbeing.

-I use different strategies from different modalities such as cbt and mindfulness. The main modality I am grounded in is person-centred.

-I have experience in both face to face, online and telephone counselling and I am happy to provide whichever one suits you best.

-I have trained with three different charities/organisations which gave me a varied and extensive amount of experience with different age groups, backgrounds and issues. I have volunteered with UCEN Manchester, TOG Mind and Paul Popham Kidney support Wales (remotely and continue to do so).

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
