About me
I provide Supervision, Counselling and Interpersonal Therapy for Individuals and Couples.
I am a therapist and supervisor working in the NHS and in private practice. I have gained over 10 years of knowledge and experience in supporting people to work through difficulties and improve the relationship with self and others.
The therapy I provide is individually tailored to suit your needs by integrating different therapeutic modalities where appropriate. I work with various issues such as, but not limited to, depression, anxiety, trauma stress, and loss.
This therapy is for anyone looking to explore unhelpful patterns, to recover from difficulties in the past, manage distress and make positive changes. I aim to help you to become more self-aware, more confident and to develop healthy secure relationships.
My further training and growing focus and interest in relationships has developed over the years. I now specialise in working with you as an individual, couple, or family to address:
- Conflict in relationships that is a source of tension and distress.
Life changes, such as divorce/break up/job loss or the birth of a child, that affect people's feelings about themselves and others. - Processing relational trauma and developing new helpful habits.
- Grief and loss (past or present bereavements) which have left you feeling stuck/sad/frustrated..
- Difficulties in starting or sustaining relationships.
- Improving communication, intimacy and commitment challenges
- Processing betrayals, resentment and reducing conflict
- Patterns of choosing challenging relationships and low self-worth
- Process marital affairs, family conflict, separation and divorce.
This work involves working with you to learn effective strategies for dealing with relationship problems and in turn improve the symptoms which prevent you from feeling secure and fulfilled. I make links to the past and present experiences to gain deeper insight into yourself, and your patterns of relating with others.
The therapy I provide is culturally and gender sensitive. I respect your unique goals and diversity. We will work together to gain new perspectives to reach your potential.
Couples and family work aims to help you to develop a deeper level of communication by encouraging each to express and hear the other's needs, develop ways to resolve conflict and identify ways to make changes that will support and nurture closeness and growth in their relationship.
I offer face to face, online, telephone or walk & talk therapy from my home in a quiet and confidential location.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
Walk & Talk - If you would prefer the option of ‘walk and talk’ therapy. I am located in a rural area with privately owned countryside walks. If you would feel more comfortable walking alongside me rather than in a therapy room then walking therapy could be ideal for you.
The emphasis in ‘Walk and Talk Therapy’ is on the therapy, and the walking is a secondary benefit. You set the pace of the session but should not expect an extremely strenuous workout or any sort of personal training.
