Supervision details
Hi, I provide supportive, insightful and empathic supervision.
I am a qualified and experienced supervisor offering supervision within the NHS and in private practice. I am on the supervisor register for couples counsellors: https://coupletherapyfordepression.org/accreditation/approved-accredited/supervisors and I also provide supervision for trainee Person-Centred Counsellors Supervision will include the following:
- Setting up a learning relationship. Facilitating the supervisee's development in their role.
- To explore feelings and reactions which emerge.
- Support you to develop the caseload and practice that you desire.
- To explore attachments and the relational aspects of therapy.
- To monitor professional/ethical issues (there are no such thing as 'silly' questions)
Fundamentally, I support you to ‘be yourself’ and bring whatever you need to (the proud moments and the challenging). We collaboratively work to consider different perspectives and develop confidence in your abilities whilst respecting your core training/model.
We can also help address- Self-doubt and transference/counter transference, feeling stuck and Symptoms of burn out.
In my own work I integrate different counselling models, such as Psychosexual Therapy, Person-Centred, CBT, TA, Systemic, Interpersonal Therapy, Gestalt and Couples Counsellor training to underpin my work. I am committed to continuing to develop my knowledge and experience by undertaking regular CPD. I am passionate about working relationally with both supervisees and clients. I believe the relationship is at the forefront, and use a collaborative and respectful stance to share and develop insight. I am happy to arrange a free initial meeting via video to help decide if I am a suitable supervisor for you.
Qualified Counsellors- £70 (1.5 hours) Students - £50 (1.5 hours)
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
