About me

Hello, thank you for taking the time to read my profile. I work compassionately, honestly and with gentleness to help you bring about the changes you seek.

Are you struggling with anxiety, depression, or unhelpful thoughts? Perhaps you’ve lost confidence, feel alone or are struggling in an important relationship. Do you feel you are constantly getting stuck in the same patterns and nothing in your life changes?  Perhaps you don’t know what it is you want.  Whatever your reason for seeking help and however difficult things are right now, deciding to work together could be the start of the change you want.   I am commited to helping my clients find autonomy and clarity in their lives.

I am a fully qualified integrative psychotherapeutic counsellor who offers individual counselling/psychotherapy to adults.  As an integrative counsellor, I work relationally, exploring what is happening between us in the here and now to give us clues on how you are in relationship.   I use a range of counselling theories to suit you and I will work with you collaboratively to facilitate what it is you would like to achieve.

We might look at your early experiences to see how they are impacting you in your current life, this is not to find someone to blame but quite often we carry unconscious emotions from our past because we were not able to process them at the time.  We avoided those emotions in helpful and adaptive ways. Now, however, these ways do not serve us in our adult life.  We will look at these patterns and explore life events and the historical roots of your difficulties with love, care and compassion.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
