About me

My name is Philippa, thank you for taking the time to look at my profile.

I am registered Integrative, Humanistic Counsellor with a particular interest in psychodynamic, Jungian and creative approaches.

I have over 35 years of experience working with children and families and the last 10 years working as a therapist with children, young people and adults.

I really enjoy my work, helping my clients to understand who they are and I know that finding the right person to work with is so important to begin the therapy process.

I offer a warm and open approach, focusing on the relationship between myself and my client to find creative ways forward with the aim of making positive change.

When I work my clients I can offer a range of creative tools, including art, drawing, sandtray, and mindfulness techniques. I like to work creatively and collaboratively.

Using a creative approach encourages the person to draw on their inner creative resources and express their feelings without necessarily using words. This approach helps the person to communicate at their own level and their own pace.

I have experience in working with a wide range of problems and have a special interest in childhood trauma, anxiety and depression.

Therapy can help a person to explore unconscious relationship patterns that are evolved from childhood and how this can affect a persons current thoughts, feelings and behaviour. I prefer to work open ended with my clients. This offers us a space to slow down and enable you to become more aware of who you are so that you can begin to live a more creative and fulfilling life.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
