About me
Are you feeling overwhelmed and struggling to deal with life's daily challenges? Are you wanting something different for yourself but are not quite able to understand what it is you need? Have you been surviving for too long and not being living your life to the fullest? Feeling drained and the stresses of each day are getting to you but nobody seems to understand what you are going through?
We all feel a little lost sometimes, don't know what decisions are the best ones for us and let the stress of our lives get us down. Together, we can confront your issues and find ways to make your life more manageable. Talking can be the first step in helping you to overcome the problems that you face.
I offer:
-In-person therapy sessions in Disley and Knutsford
- Online and telephone sessions
Counselling gave me the tools I needed to deal with the problems I faced in my daily life. It helped me to find out what was important to me and who I really was deep down. Then, I was able to find ways to express my identity and live more authentically. I want to show you how you can do this too through the therapy process.
I have worked with many people who are having difficulties with many issues including anxiety, depression, bereavement, family issues, stress, feeling sad, and loneliness. Helping them to find the root of their problems and to facilitate them in easing the pain they are going through.
I am trained in Person-Centred Therapy (PCT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Transactional Analysis (TA).
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a Registered MBACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and work within their ethical framework.
- ABC Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling
- ABC Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Skills
- ABC Level 2 Counselling Concepts
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
