About me

Sometimes life events and situations can feel too heavy to carry alone, impacting and affecting our ability to cope and function. Resulting in anxiety, stress, depression or trauma and affecting our relationships with those around us. I help people to live a less anxious and stressful life by improving wellbeing through exploration of life events and development of your own strengths and personal identity whilst meeting your needs as an individual with unique experiences and requirements from therapy.

I can provide confidential support in a safe, comfortable environment in which you can explore personal issues, either face to face, online or via telephone sessions.

I am also trained in the Rewind technique, a non-intrusive, safe and highly effective powerful and psychological detraumatisation method, which can be used to address trauma and also for removing phobias.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified counsellor and a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), the largest body of professional therapists in the UK. I regularly attend further professional training in order to keep my professional knowledge and practice up to date.

In addition to working in private practice I am a bereavement volunteer with Cruse Bereavement Services, having completed specific training for grief and loss, including supporting people and their families living with dementia.

Additionally, I have experience working as the coordinator of a project improving the wellbeing and recovery of people living with mental health issues such as bipolar, schizophrenia, severe depression and anxiety.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
