Sometimes life events and situations can feel too heavy to carry alone, impacting and affecting our ability to cope and function. Resulting in anxiety, stress or trauma and affecting our relationships with those around us. I can provide confidential support in a safe, comfortable environment in which you can explore personal issues, either face to face, online or via telephone sessions. I am also able to offer walk and talk therapy in the outdoors.
Our work together will be grounded in the person-centred approach which enables personal growth by allowing you to explore and develop your own strengths and personal identity.
I also work in an integrative and holistic way in order to meet your needs as an individual with unique experiences and requirements from therapy.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a qualified counsellor and a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), the largest body of professional therapists in the UK. I regularly attend further professional training in order to keep my professional knowledge and practice up to date.
In addition to working in private practice I am a counsellor with Pembrokeshire Counselling Service. I also work as a bereavement volunteer with Cruse Bereavement Services, having completed specific training for grief and loss, including supporting people and their families living with dementia.
Additionally, I have experience working as the coordinator of a project improving the wellbeing and recovery of people living with mental health issues such as bipolar, schizophrenia, severe depression and anxiety.
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
