About me

Hello. I’m glad you found your way here.

It’s often difficult to take that first step towards asking for help. It requires strength and courage, especially if you’re not sure how counselling works or if it might help you.

My aim is to provide a warm, safe, confidential space that allows you to explore your thoughts and feelings. Together, at your pace, we will unfold and untangle problems or difficulties you may be experiencing. Whatever you are going through, you don't have to go through it alone.

As an integrative counsellor I seek to bring different approaches to help individual client needs. I have experience working with approaches such as Person-Centred Counselling, Transactional Analysis, Gestalt Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and more.

Together we can:

  • Make sense of the situation
  • Identify patterns of behaviour
  • Process difficult emotions
  • Break down problems
  • Look at how the past is affecting the present
  • Find solutions
  • Set goals

When you contact me initially, we will arrange to meet online for a free 20 minute introductory assessment session, during which we can both see how we might get along together and discuss your needs.

There is no charge for this initial session, and no obligation to continue with me if you feel we aren't a right fit. Following this, we will form a mutual working agreement contract and begin our counselling sessions.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
