About me

Hello I am Hasan. I provide counselling services for age 18 years and over and work with a safe, non-judgemental and confidential approach.

About me and my practice: I am an inclusive and multilingual counsellor accepting of all faiths, cultures and religion. I am always open to learn about other faith groups and cultures, therefore I am open to all enquiries. My aim as your counsellor will be to give you the time, space and environment to strive towards self understanding and growth. Life can feel overwhelming and isolating when enduring challenging times, so coming to therapy can provide you with a safe space to process and understand your inner emotions and feelings. Therapy with me will support you to enhance self awareness, understanding and authenticity.

Being a person of colour and living within marginalised communities I understand well enough the pressures of trying to fit in. My aim as your counsellor will be to accept you just as you are. The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I change. Carl Rogers, On Becoming a Person: A Therapist's View of Psychotherapy

Practice description: Person centred therapy allows an individual the space to navigate through uncomfortable events and emotions linked to these, at your own pace. Therapy with me will support you to connect more with yourself and help you find ways to move forward in life. This unique space is unlike any other places, conversations with family and friends as this is 50 minutes for you and solely for you to talk about anything you feel is important and hard to voice elsewhere. My focus will be providing you with a non-judgemental space, empathy and unconditional understanding. For further information - visit this page https://www.bacp.co.uk/about-therapy/types-of-therapy/person-centred-counselling.

Intro call: I do offer a free of charge 15 minutes phone consultation to gather some information and decide if we can work together. It may include discussing any therapy goals you may have and an opportunity for you to ask questions. You can book a call using the feature on my profile. Please don't call me- instead email with your enquiry or to request a telephone consultation.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
