About me

Why Therapy?

I understand that the decision to start therapy is rarely made lightly, and taking that first step can feel overwhelming. You may be feeling apprehensive, anxious, and sceptical about sharing your innermost thoughts and emotions with a stranger. It takes immense courage to be vulnerable and talk about the difficulties you are experiencing, and I want you to know that I fully appreciate and respect your decision to seek help. I am here to support you every step of the way.

You might be facing a specific problem that you want to address, such as relationship issues or anxiety. Alternatively, you may have a sense that something in your life is not quite right, but you cannot identify it.

My approach

Individual Counselling & Psychotherapy:

As a relational integrative therapist, I bring my complete self and all that it encompasses to our therapy sessions. My approach is tailored specifically to you and the challenges you are working to overcome. I aim to be fully present and attuned to your needs, working intuitively to ensure that you feel heard and understood.

During our work together, I will provide a safe, supportive and compassionate space for you to explore your emotions, behaviours, significant events, and relationships. Together, we can consider and identify the underlying roots or causes of your challenges and gently shift their hold on your life enabling you to be your most authentic self.

I place great emphasis on the therapeutic relationship that we create in collaboration together and feel it is at the heart of our work and an essential component to you achieving the healing and growth you desire.

I currently work with individuals, in a wide variety of areas, including but not exclusively,  developmental trauma, work/family issues, relationship endings or rupture, self-harm and suicidal ideation, low self-esteem, depression or/and anxiety, sexual assault or abuse, sexuality, bereavement, neurodiversity and much more.

We can work together for a few sessions or over a longer period depending on your needs and wishes.

Couples/Relationships:

Are you struggling in your relationship? Constant arguments and poor communication? Criticising and blaming each other? Wondering why you always trigger one another?

Do you want to understand what's causing pain and conflict in your relationship? Are you ready to move towards empathy and understanding, and away from criticism and confrontation?

If this is you, I can help.

As an Imago Relationship therapist, my goal is to support you to rekindle the love and joy in your relationship, while also addressing any difficulties that may be impacting your connection.

I will assist you in developing new skills and understanding, providing you with the opportunity to view your relationship from a fresh perspective, and ultimately strengthen your emotional connection and bond.

I offer support to couples of all ages, ethnicities or sexual orientations. Whether you're a new couple or have been together for a long time, I am committed to helping you create the relationship that you both desire.

If you and your partner are committed to improving your relationship and would like to achieve a new level of understanding and intimacy, then I may be the right therapist for you.

“Love is everything it’s cracked up to be. It really is worth fighting for, being brave for, risking everything for. And the trouble is, if you don’t risk anything, you risk even more.”  - Erica Jong

What Happens Next?

I offer a free 15-minute telephone call - this gives you an opportunity to ask me any questions you may have. From that point, if you wish we can arrange an initial appointment which will allow you to decide whether I am the right therapist  for you.

I can be contacted via telephone or email. If I am unable to answer please leave a message and I will return your call as soon as possible.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
