About me

I am a BACP Accredited psychotherapist and supervisor working with young people, adults and couples.

I am based in Harrow but available from wherever you are.   I work remotely so that you are safe.   If you have a busy lifestyle, it may not be convenient for you to travel for you therapy.   All you need to do is set yourself up by your computer or you phone and you are ready to have your therapy.

My professional training is in Psychodynamic Counselling and as a current accredited member of The British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) I abide by their Code of Ethics and Practice. BACP is the main professional body which regulates the counselling profession.

If you are looking for counselling because of generalised anxiety disorder, depression, panic disorder or an unspecified crisis, or perhaps you have found yourself repeatedly in similar situations; counselling can help you to explore with the aim of understanding how the crisis came about, perhaps enabling you to be more equipped to deal with any similar crisis in the future.

If you are anxious and confused and unable to understand why. Maybe you have low self-esteem and are frightened and concerned about other people's feelings towards you and/or your feeling or reactions towards others. Perhaps you are depressed and feel as if you are in a black hole or in a glass bubble and the rest of the world is going about its business without you. These are a few of the reasons why people embark on psychodynamic counselling - there are many more, too numerous to recount in this limited space. If you feel that you experience similar painful emotions or others not mentioned here, don't hesitate to contact me and we can together explore how talking and sharing will help for you.   "It's good to talk".

I work with relationship issues whether working one to one or with the couple. Affairs and betrayals can affect us all, maybe those of family members during our childhood or our own or partners during our adult life.

I am a Bupa, Bupa Global, AXA/PPP, AVIVA  and Nuffield Health registered provider.

In addition to being a therapist I am also a qualified supervisor.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have completed an intensive four years of professional training at The Manor House Centre for Psychotherapy and Counselling where I graduated with the Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling and Therapy in the Community and Parent Infant Observation. I am an accredited member of The British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapists.

I have had many years of experience working with adults in the private sector, and more recently in the NHS, who have suffered physical, emotional as well as sexual abuse. I work with people suffering from depression, stress, anxiety, bereavement, difficulties with family and personal relationships, confusion, eating disorders, and those who are experiencing difficulty coping with change.

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
