About me

Uncover the transformative power of our sessions through the voices of those who have walked this path before you!

I almost hope to feel unwell again so I can come back" "That toolbox, after many years, is still my strength to overcome my limitations" "You saw my potential, not my autism" "I learned to not be frightened by my thoughts, to accept them and normalize them but also say what I really think" "I now eat my own life with taste" "Receiving an adrenaline shot into the psyche" "Working out by myself but being there for me if needed" "Metaphoric fog lifted" "Reflection on my own worlds and how those are interconnected" “Path of transformation” “More human, less constructed” “Empowerment” "Clarity", "Toolbox", "Acceptance", "Growth" “Curiosity to rediscover myself again” “More spontaneous” “More confident” “Completely at ease” “Better relationships” “Warm internal space” “Stronger” "Freer" “Internal peace" “Not judged”

These testimonials reflect the transformative journeys my clients have experienced. Among those I've had the privilege to guide, a unique group has emerged - individuals who've left their home countries to live abroad.

Navigating the Expat Journey: Your Guide to a Fulfilling Life Abroad
Over two decades of practice, I've developed a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by those who choose to live abroad. If you're an expat, you might recognize yourself in this journey:

The Initial Excitement

Exhilaration of a fresh start
Enthusiasm for new experiences
Breaking free from stagnation

The Unexpected Hurdles

Cultural differences that catch you off-guard
Language barriers limiting self-expression
Career setbacks despite your qualifications
Feeling out of sync with both your new home and your birthplace

The Emotional Rollercoaster

Guilt about missing important events back home
Stress and anxiety from constant adaptation
Fear of missing out as life moves on without you
Identity struggles: Where do you truly belong?

The Long-Term Questions

Balancing career ambitions with family life
Navigating relationships across borders
Planning for retirement between two worlds
Coping with aging parents from afar

As your therapist, I offer a safe space to explore these complex emotions and challenges.

Together, we'll work on:

Developing strategies to thrive in your new environment
Reconciling your multicultural identity
Building meaningful connections despite geographical distances
Creating a fulfilling life that honours both your past and your chosen path

Whether you're in the initial stages of your expat journey or grappling with long-term residence abroad, I'm here to support you. Let's transform the challenges of expat life into opportunities for growth and self-discovery.

What can you expect from counselling?

A peaceful and creative space in which you can find the answers that are right for you and develop your own unique potential. I try my best to understand how the world looks through your eyes, what feels like to be in your shoes. I accept you as you are, without judgement. I will not tell you what to do but "walk" alongside you, following your path, assisting you in finding your own solutions. I will provide a safe, understanding and supportive relationship.

Arts Therapy

Using the arts in sessions can be helpful in expressing feelings that are difficult to talk about. It can also help us to unlock creative energy and find new solutions.

Discover Your True Self Through Nature Alignment (also known as Walk and Talk Therapy)

As you open your senses to the world as it truly is, you'll gain profound insights into your deeper self.

Ready to see your reflection in the wild mirror of nature? Join me for a Nature Alignment session and step into a more connected, authentic version of yourself.

Pet Therapy

In my therapy room there are cats that can be part of the healing process, should you choose too. Cats can be kept away should you not want them in the therapy room.

Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy is a unique therapeutic process. It is a healing by trance state of awareness. Hypnotherapy attempts to address the client's subconscious mind. The hypnotherapist is a guide facilitating our inborn ability to change as desired, because all the power is already in the mind us through experiencing hypnosis. In addition to accessing our inner potential, hypnotherapy also addresses our inner resources to effect beneficial changes. It is the innate healing capacity of our own body that may be stimulated by hypnotherapy.

Hypnotherapy - the way I work

I guide you in a relaxed state by utilising a wide range of techniques from story telling, metaphor or symbolism, whatever is meaningful for you, to also offering direct suggestions for beneficial change. I also teach you self-hypnosis. Some hypnotherapy techniques attempt to uncover problems deemed to lie in our past life or hypnotherapy might concentrate more on our present life.

Hypnotherapy can help with:

  • Panic attacks, anxiety and stress
  • Sleeping problems
  • Anxious about pain (e.g. giving birth, IBS)
  • Lack of confidence and low self-esteem
  • Fear of examinations, Driving test, Public speaking and performance anxiety
  • Phobias and fear (e.g. of heights, of flying, of Dentists)
  • Unwanted habits (e.g. Smoking, overeating)
  • ABOUT ME

I help you to change your limiting believes that prevent you from reaching your goals so you can amplify your life success.

As an integrative humanistic counsellor, I see you as having innate resources and potential to draw on and develop. I believe that we have the answers we need within us that need to be discovered, we can be trusted to find our own way out of our difficulties, we have a natural tendency to grow and change

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
