About me

Hello and thank you for visiting my page.

My name is Maria Tsiplitari Tsamadia and I am an integrative, embodied psychotherapist offering therapy for adults (18+) at HQ Therapy Rooms in Dalston, London E8. I have more than 8 years of experience working with adults from diverse backgrounds in the public and private mental health sector, including the NHS, NGOs, voluntary sector and charities. Originally from Greece, I have been living and working in the UK since 2017.

My focus is on creating a safe, warm and collaborative therapy space to support you in understanding how you can lead a more meaningful life. It is my priority that you feel heard and understood and make meaning of your experiences.

Together we can explore your worries around relationship difficulties, family, career and work-related issues, as well as issues with anxiety, depression, mood and low self-esteem. Throughout my career, I have also supported clients in managing difficulties related to significant life changes, ageing, loss/ grief, health issues and identity.

My clinical work and personal experience with psychotherapy have made me a firm believer in how therapy can help us manage present issues, by enhancing our self-awareness, resources, resilience and creativity, as well as by gently connecting our past, present and future.

The identities we embody, such as our age, culture, gender, sex, sexuality, ethnicity, faith, etc, significantly shape our experiences. Hence, I find it helpful to consider them in the context of therapy.

I am very interested in how our minds influence our bodies and vice versa. Therefore, I often draw upon non-verbal and creative therapeutic interventions, such as breathing and movement to further support you in understanding yourself and achieving the changes you want, aiming to offer a holistic approach to therapy.

My initial training as a psychologist (AUTH GR), my subsequent psychotherapy training (Roehampton University, UK) and my engagement with therapy as a client has allowed me to gain a deep understanding of the multifaceted and fascinating human experiences.

My current training with the Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy College of the UKCP and training to become a supervisor keep shaping my integrative approach to therapy.  Incorporating humanistic, psychodynamic, existential, embodied and cognitive/behavioural theory into my practice supports a flexible and person-centred therapeutic approach tailored to meet your needs.

I am a registered member of the ADMP UK and a trainee member of the UKCP.

You are welcome to send me an e-mail so that we arrange a first meeting, where we can discuss what brings you to therapy and how we could work together. I offer both short-term and open-ended therapy.

Currently, I am also offering low cost supervision to practitioners working with adults (18+) as part of my Supervision Diploma Training with London Centre for Psychodrama (Creative Approaches to Supervision).
