About me

Hello and welcome to my profile,

I have for the past 16 years worked with clients who have experienced many different problems such as anxiety, depression, co-dependency, anger, stress, loss, addiction and loss of meaning and purpose. Life is not always straight forward and it can be very confusing and painful.

But by getting the right support from a good therapist you can begin to understand, reflect, process and heal your problems in a useful way. Therapy can help you to make sense of what you are going through and help you to find your way through it.

It is a brave decision to start therapy. I understand the courage it takes to be here. What you will find in therapy with me is a confidential, non-judgmental space to be yourself. My focus is on you and your needs. The alliance between the therapist and client is at the core of the work and I enjoy building healthy, honest, useful and trusting relationships with my clients.

I also believe that by acknowledging you need some help you have already come a long way. By taking the next step and talking to a professional therapist such as myself you can further your progress and start to make an even bigger difference to how you cope and live your life. And begin to take more control of how your life moves forward.

I have an integrative approach to counselling, with my core principles being in a person-centered approach.

I welcome you to contact me for your free initial consultation to discuss your needs and see if I am best suited to help you. The areas that I offer counselling in can be seen lower down on my profile.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
