About me

At the core of my counselling practice is the belief that the most powerful form of therapy is rooted in a deep and loving human connection. I wholeheartedly embrace the idea that the client-therapist relationship has the potential to ignite profound and lasting change. While challenges may arise within relationships, they also hold the potential for healing and growth. With care and compassion, I strive to create a nurturing space where my clients feel accepted and truly heard, regardless of their circumstances.

I practice pluralistic therapy which involves a collaborative and flexible approach, integrating a wide range of therapeutic techniques and perspectives. This enables me to effectively address the unique needs of each client based on their individual preferences. However, a person-centred philosophy is at the heart of my approach. This philosophy recognises that our fundamental beliefs and sense of self greatly impacts our overall well-being. When working with clients, I approach them with compassion and congruence, creating a safe and supportive environment for them to express themselves and explore their challenges without fear of judgment.

Active listening is of utmost importance to me, as I deeply value and honour my clients' experiences. I believe in empowering clients to generate their own solutions, fostering autonomy and self-belief. My goal is to support clients in taking ownership of their personal growth and cultivating lasting change beyond our sessions together.

I strive to provide a balanced perspective, offering structure for effective problem-solving and presenting a range of options for addressing the issues at hand. Additionally, I work to bring unconscious patterns into conscious awareness, assisting clients in recognising and transforming ingrained ways of thinking, behaving and relating that may no longer serve them. Through our collaborative efforts, my aim is to provide a clear reflection for clients to view themselves, guiding them from fragmentation to integration and wholeness.

If we were to work together, I would leverage your distinctive strengths and resources while adapting my approach to align with your specific goals, preferences, and needs. By honouring your individuality and actively involving you in the therapeutic process, we would establish a dynamic partnership that supports your growth and empowers you to create meaningful changes in your life.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a Master's degree with distinction in Counselling and Psychotherapy from the University of Abertay, Dundee. Since 2019, I have been dedicated to working with clients and have gained extensive experience in supporting individuals facing various challenges, including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, addiction, and bereavement, amongst others.

As a pluralistic therapist, I have undergone comprehensive training in a wide array of theories and their integration and continue to stay abreast of therapeutic developments. By adapting my approach to align with my client’s unique goals, preferences and needs, I strive to create a therapeutic experience that is truly tailored to each individual. I believe in the power of collaboration and flexibility and I am committed to continuously learning and growing as a therapist to best serve my clients.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
