About me

Hello, I am a registered member of the BACP. I have a passion for helping my clients believe in themselves again through listening with a gentle, relaxed, empathetic approach.  My counselling practice is grounded by experience in working in mental health agencies.

I understand how challenging life can become at certain times and will support you in finding the power to achieve a more satisfying life as I believe everyone deserves to be able to explore feelings in a safe space feeling heard, understood, and respected. I strongly believe everyone has their own answers.

I am primarily a person-centred counsellor delivering safe, confidential, and non-judgemental conditions providing space for you to explore your feelings.  Through continued CPD I have experience of many modalities which I use in my practice making our therapeutic relationship unique.  My aim is to become aware of your individual needs and I strive to work in an authentic manner allowing you to find your meaning in life again.

I have experience of working with bereavement, anxiety, depression, family trauma, including physical and sexual abuse, rape, and substance abuse.

I am flexible and amenable to your needs offering concessions.   My counselling room is in the centre of Hereford however I can offer home visits and hire a space to meet your needs.  I also offer online, telephone and walking therapy to suit your unique situation.

I don’t work to set number of sessions, but I will review our work at regular intervals together.  Please phone, text or e-mail me to arrange a free 15-minute phone or zoom assessment where we can discuss what you would like to achieve from counselling and how I can help.  From there if you are happy, we can arrange a full session.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
