About me

Does any of this sound like something you can resonate with...

  • Struggling with anxiety.
  • Feeling low and not sure why.
  • Feeling stressed.
  • Not feeling great about myself.
  • Feeling overwhelmed.
  • Lacking confidence.
  • Struggling to talk to others about how I am feeling.
  • Unable to understand how I feel and make sense of it.

We all have times in our lives when we feel anxious, overwhelmed, confused or lost. Sometimes we feel too embarrassed to talk to someone we know or feel that they would not listen or understand. Therapy can help.

You may not know exactly what is wrong, or what brought you here. And that is okay. That’s where I can help.

I am a person-centred counsellor who puts the client at the heart of what I do. The focus is always going to be on you, and your wants and needs. I will work hard to create an empathic, non-judgemental relationship and environment where I will help you explore your feelings and experiences, deepen your understanding of self, as we bring into awareness where and why you might be stuck.

I am passionate about normalising “getting help”. I  believe that asking for help is often a huge first step and a catalyst for change. As a person-centred counsellor I believe that we are the experts of ourselves. I would love the opportunity to support you through self-discovery, finding your own answers and help you to feel empowered to look towards the future with a better outlook and make the changes you want in your own life.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Additional information

I offer a free 20 minute introductory call, this can take place over the phone or via Zoom. Please send me an email enquiry for my availability for this.

I understand the prospect of reaching out may be daunting and you may not know what to expect. In this first session, we will get to know each other a little more. It will be an opportunity for you to talk about what has brought you to counselling and what you would like to get from it. Please do not worry if you don't yet know this, it's something we can work on together.

Equally, it will give me the opportunity to explain to you the way in which I work. You will be able to ask any questions and together we can decide whether we feel we would be a good fit and wish to work together moving forward.
