About me

Does any of this feel familiar?

  • Feeling anxious, stressed, or overwhelmed
  • Feeling low and unsure why
  • Experiencing burnout or emotional exhaustion
  • Struggling with confidence or self-esteem
  • Finding it hard to talk to others about how you feel
  • Feeling confused, stuck, or unable to make sense of your emotions

There are times in life when we can feel anxious, overwhelmed, confused, or lost. It may feel difficult to talk to friends or family, or you may worry that others will not fully understand what you are experiencing. Therapy can provide a supportive space to explore these feelings.

You may not have a clear sense of what feels wrong or what has brought you to seek counselling, and that is completely okay. My role is to support you in making sense of your experiences at your own pace.

I am a person-centred counsellor, meaning that you are always at the centre of our work together. Our sessions will focus on your individual needs, experiences, and goals. I offer a warm, non-judgemental, and confidential environment where you can feel heard and understood. Together, we will explore your thoughts and feelings, helping you to gain a deeper understanding of yourself and identify any areas where you may feel stuck.

I am passionate about normalising the process of seeking support and believe that asking for help can be a significant and positive first step towards change. As a person-centred counsellor, I believe that you are the expert in your own life. I aim to support you through self-discovery, helping you to find your own answers, feel empowered, and move forward with greater clarity and confidence. You do not need to know where to begin - we can start there together.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Additional information

I offer a free 20 minute introductory call, this can take place over the phone or via Microsoft Teams. Please send me an email enquiry for my availability for this (keep an eye of your junk folder for a response.)

I understand the prospect of reaching out may be daunting and you may not know what to expect. In this first session, we will get to know each other a little more. It will be an opportunity for you to talk about what has brought you to counselling and what you would like to get from it. Please do not worry if you don't yet know this, it's something we can work on together.

Equally, it will give me the opportunity to explain to you the way in which I work. You will be able to ask any questions and together we can decide whether we feel we would be a good fit and wish to work together moving forward.
