About me

A very warm welcome to my page.

You may be walking on egg shells or intimidated by your partner, child or a family member. Perhaps you may know that something is not right or living with conflict and want to explore these feelings further.

It could be that you are feeling anxious, depressed and use alcohol or substances to cope with what is going on for you. There are so many issues that can arise from being in an abusive relationship and know what courage it takes to talk.

I'm a highly empathic and non judgemental therapist working with adults (face to face and online) who have experienced any form of abuse, crime, trauma, domestic abuse and violence, anger, relationship problems and Narcissistic Personality (NPD).

  • I have 20 years working in the field of Domestic Abuse in varying roles.
  • I have also worked with Young Offenders and victims of Crime.

I'm interested in you and what you are experiencing.

As your counsellor I will not judge or advise but will listen and be with you while you talk with warmth and empathy. My clients tell me they feel lighter at the end of our sessions and have clarity.

In our first session we will take a deep dive into your personal history which can help to relate to previous and current experiences, and also talk about what you would like to get from counselling. The rest of our session will be for you and we can then plan further sessions.

It will take a few sessions to get used to counselling and trust each other. Once trust is established, I may offer creative work which will help when feeling stuck or unlock feelings and processes from within.

Before all of this though, you may be unsure if i'm the right counsellor for you.

Please feel free to arrange a 10 minute, non obligatory chat with me to ask any questions.

I look forward to hearing from you.

With warm thanks,

Kate.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
