About me

Hello there

I am able to work with you (available face to face and on line) on any aspect of your life that you are struggling with. What is bringing you to counselling?

It may include abuse ,Domestic Abuse and violence, Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD) on line dating experiences, relationship difficulties, crime, bereavement, trauma, anxiety and depression.

It could be you are feeling stuck or confused about a situation or person. There may be something that doesn't feel right and you are not sure why.  You may be living with conflict.

You may be walking on egg shells or intimidated by your partner, child or other family member. You may be  living with conflict and want to explore these feelings further.

It could be that you are feeling anxious or depressed and use alcohol or substances to cope with what is going on for you.  It could be that you are thinking of entering a new relationship but unsure what you are needing and what is getting in the way of listening to those red flags.  Maybe you are wanting to find out more about yourself and why you react in the way you do in certain situations.

Ultimately your reasons for coming to counselling, your experiences and your feelings are unique to you.  I'm not here to judge or advise you but but by talking we will be able to make sense of what is going on and find a way forward together. I understand what courage it takes to come to counselling

As your counsellor, I will give you a safe a and confidential space.  I will listen with warmth and empathy.  I will be by your side as you explore what you feel comfortable with and help you unlock uncomfortable feelings in your own time.  My clients tell me they feel lighter and have clarity at the end of our sessions.

Our first session will include taking a dive into your personal history, discussing any expectations of our sessions and asking questions.  The rest of our session will be for you to tell me what you want

I offer short and long term work and we will review our work regularly to ensure we are on track.

It will take a few sessions to get used to counselling and tryst each other. Once trust is established, I may offer creative work which helps shift feelings and makes sense of what is going on for you.

I am available to answer any questions you have before we book a session if that helps.

I look forward to hearing from you

With warmth

Kate

Please feel free to arrange a 10 minute, non obligatory chat with me to ask any questions.

With warmth

Kate.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
