About me

Hello, I am an experienced, compassionate and enthusiastic Clinical Psychologist providing detailed and quality evidence based psychological assessment and treatment for a range of mental health difficulties.

I have over 11 years of clinical experience and continue to hold specialist positions within NHS mental health services, alongside my role as Director and Senior Clinical Psychologist at the Clinical Psychology Collective Ltd. I am a registered member of the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

I have experience working clinically across various inpatient and community mental health and forensic mental health services. I have specialised in working with people who experience severe and enduring mental health difficulties, often within the context of adverse life events and trauma.

I draw upon a number of approaches to target these difficulties therapeutically, including cognitive behavioural therapy, compassion focussed therapy and aspects of cognitive analytic therapy. I utilise specialist trauma informed approaches; trauma focused cognitive behavioural therapy and Eye Movement, Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR). I am also trained in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy and CBT for personality disorders and psychosis.

In addition, I have accrued a wealth of experience working with adults living with grief and loss, depression, insomnia, anger and interpersonal or relationship difficulties and anxiety disorders including but not limited to, OCD, social anxiety, worry and panic and agoraphobia.

I also have an interest in working with individuals, carers and family members who are affected by distress within the context of dementia. I have significant experience in managing distress behaviour (or challenging behaviour) within dementia and have delivered training to both NHS and care home staff on the related Newcastle Model.

In addition, I am trained in numerous forensic risk assessment tools and have experience completing pre-sentencing Court reports.

I also offer support to professionals through the provision of consultation, clinical supervision and training.

I am hugely passionate in my aim to provide a high quality, evidenced service having witnessed how quality psychological therapy can deliver huge change to the lives and wellbeing of individuals. I am committed to helping those in distress to make real and lasting change. I appreciate how daunting it can be to approach a new therapist and to explore distressing and emotion I am difficulties; I pride myself on providing a safe, friendly and reassuring space for each of my clients.

Please do look at my website for further details and to explore FAQ. Do not hesitate to contact me to discuss any questions you may have, I really look forward to hearing from you.
