About me
I am an integrative, humanistic counsellor. My work is essentially underpinned by person-centred values, offering clients a safe, warm and non-judgemental space that encourages exploration and growth. Should I work with you, I will meet you where you are, in your current experience with the belief that you know yourself best. I also believe you possess the innate ability to become the best version of yourself.
Before qualifying as a counsellor, I worked for schools, local authorities and charities supporting vulnerable people with challenging life experiences, such as homelessness, addiction and family breakdowns. These roles helped me develop my belief in the power of the individual, and the interpersonal skills to enable me to support people with support, compassion and empathy.
Within my counselling I am particularly interested in how we relate to our bodies and the effect this can have on our well-being. Thoughts and feelings are stored within the body and can manifest as physical sensation. Based on this principle, I would work to encourage a deeper exploration of your world and how you connect with feelings and sensation, making sense of your world through your body in the therapy room.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

My first session
Prior to the session I will send you a short form to complete, which will provide me with a sense of how you're feeling at this moment in your life, and what brings you to therapy. I will provide you with a copy of the agreement between us, outlining what you can expect from me and what I can expect from you. This should be signed and returned prior to our first session.
Having a good connection with your therapist is important. During our first session, we will have the opportunity to see if we believe that we have the type of connection needed for the foundation of a successful working relationship.
I am also registered with the Information Commissioner's Office and I am Enhanced DBS Certified.
