MBACP

About me

As an Integrative counsellor and member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I aim to provide a personalised counselling experience. Conversations will remain confidential and adhere to the ethical standards of the BACP.

I understand that every individual is unique and I adapt sessions to cater to specific needs and personalities. My goal is to create a warm, welcoming, and non-judgmental environment where clients can freely express their concerns and explore thoughts and feelings. I understand that every individual is unique and I adapt sessions to cater to specific needs and personalities.

My therapeutic foundations are grounded in Person-Centred Theory. Autonomy is a priority in sessions and I encourage clients to steer the conversation towards what matters most to them.

I also incorporate elements of Psychodynamic theory to help understand how past experiences may influence present emotions and behaviours.

With Transactional Analysis techniques, I can assist in enhancing communication and relationships.

My practice is dedicated to delivering culturally sensitive and affirming counselling, aiding clients in navigating their personal journeys, relationships, and overall well-being.

With a history of assisting a diverse range of clients facing a multitude of challenges, my experience extends to individuals from all backgrounds, including those within the LGBTQ+ community.

Sessions are structured to last 50 minutes.

FAQ's:

What happens at first contact?

We can schedule a brief telephone or online introduction session, during which I can explain my counselling approach and ensure that there's a good fit between us. This session is also an opportunity for you to discuss your specific therapeutic needs. Importantly, there is no commitment to continue counselling after our introductory discussion. It's a no-obligation opportunity to explore how we can work together to support your well-being.

What is the next step?

After our initial contact, I'll email you a counselling agreement. We can then schedule a time, date, and location for our session.

How often are sessions?

Typically, sessions are scheduled on a weekly basis to create a consistent environment for understanding and addressing the challenges you're facing.

How many sessions will I need?

Ultimately, this is your decision but can be discussed in an introductory call.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
