MBACP

About me

As a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), conversations will remain confidential and adhere to the ethical standards of the BACP.

As an Integrative counsellor I provide a personalised approach. My practice is non-directive and grounded in "Person-Centred Theory" and I encourage you to lead with whatever feels most important for you. I will incorporate a range of theories to adapt our work and find a therapeutic ‘language’ that resonates with you and your experience.

Our sessions are a chance to explore your experiences and what could be shaping them. Often difficulties are based around patterns, relationships or emotions and we can focus on any elements that impact your wellbeing.

I do not offer advice or solutions but will help you to identify and move towards the outcome that is best suited to your own needs.

You are welcome to book initial (30 mins - free of charge), and ongoing appointments through my site below:

Session invitation is sent once booking is complete.

Sessions are structured to last 50 minutes and are carried out via Zoom (if online).

FAQ's:

What happens at first contact?

We can schedule a 30min introduction session, during this time I can explain my counselling approach and ensure that there's a good fit between us. This session is also an opportunity for you to discuss your specific therapeutic needs. This is a no obligation opportunity to explore how we can work together to support your well being.

What is the next step?

You can book a session directly through my website. Once your session is scheduled you will receive a zoom invitation automatically.

How often are sessions?

Typically, sessions are scheduled on a weekly basis to create a consistent environment for understanding and addressing the challenges you're facing, however more ad hoc appointments can be discussed

How many sessions will I need?

This is your decision ultimately, but can be discussed in an introductory call.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
