About me

Hello and welcome to my profile. I provide a safe and confidential space for you to explore and think about yourself at your own pace. I am a relational psychoanalytical psychotherapist. This means I pay particular attention to your ways of being, thinking, feeling and relating (and avoiding these) that manifest in your current relationships and also in your relationship with me. Often these processes are driven by unconscious feelings, desires, beliefs and fears which can gradually be uncovered during the therapy leading to greater insight and awareness and ultimately a more balanced and less conflicted way of life.

Psychoanalytic psychotherapy works with the mind, specifically the unconscious which is outside our awareness. Psychotherapy takes a closer look at the more distinct aspects of life that may go unnoticed. It also works with deep seated patterns, and deeper relational models which perhaps you notice but struggle to understand.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a psychoanalytic psychotherapist, a professional member of the Association of Individual and Group Therapy (AGIP) and a full member of the UKCP.

I work in private practice and part time in an Irish charity that provides psychotherapy for survivors of institutional and clerical abuse.

UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
