About me
I am a qualified Counsellor and Clinical Supervisor. I work with adults, couples, young people, teenagers and children age 6+. Whether it is yourself, you & your partner or your child who needs support please get in touch for an informal chat. As a mother and grandma I bring a wealth of lived experience, understanding, and empathy in addition to my professional expertise. With this in mind, I also offer consultations with parents/guardians to help them to understand and support their children with mental health and/or behavioural issues.
Some issues I work with include (but are not limited to) anxiety (general/health/social), low mood/depression, relationship issues (couples counselling) anger, phobias & self-harm (in teenagers and young adults). With my experience and knowledge around self-harm I have compiled a training course for counsellors/therapists on how to work alongside their clients to help them reduce (and/or stop) their self-harm behaviours
I have completed extra training and have a special interest in working with adults, young people and children who are Neurodivergent. This includes Autism (ASD), ADHD and Dyspraxia. I also have experience working with clients from the LGBTQ+ community.
I am committed and passionate in my work guiding people through the struggles they may be facing and the impact this is having on their day to day life.
I work UK wide with my clients via video link (or telephone). I offer Face to Face counselling in Gosforth (Newcastle Upon Tyne) and in North Shields. I am currently accepting clients.
I am a member of the National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society and adhere to their code of ethics. I have an enhanced DBS and am listed on the NCPS Adult and CYPT (Children and Young People's Therapist Accredited Register).

In 2013 the NCS register was accredited by the Professional Standards Authority under the Accredited Voluntary Register Scheme. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

I occasionally have availability to offer a reduced fee service for Student Counsellors (10 sessions of personal therapy as part of their training and personal development - online video call/telephone only). Please get in touch for a chat and availability. I can also offer a reduced fee for Student Counsellors for Clinical Supervision (subject to availability as these slots are limited).

Further information
It is important to choose the right counsellor for yourself to ensure a good therapeutic relationship. Therefore, I offer a 10 minute free consultation prior to commencing counselling. In this session we will identify your therapy goals and ensure you feel comfortable with myself as your counsellor. This free consultation is available only as an online video or telephone call.
