About me
Do you struggle with anxiety or depression? Is low self-confidence or self-esteem impacting your life, relationships, and/or career? Have you experienced trauma in your life, that has or continues to have a knock-on effect on your day-to-day living? Are you looking to work through and overcome these issues that have you seeking out therapeutic support?
If so, then I am here to support you. My name is Jack Williamson. I am a compassionate and dedicated individual, couples, and EMDR trauma therapist.
My experience and passion lie in helping individuals and couples navigate life's challenges. To explore and work through their issues, and to evolve their relationship to themselves and others, for a happier and healthier life.
Training, qualifications & experience
Committing to therapy to unpack and work on your issues is a big decision, and finding the right therapist for you can be long and arduous. Having had numerous therapists over the years myself, I know that it is not only the training and qualifications that I have but the relationship we build that will be key to supporting you on your journey.
Depending on what brings you to therapy, will depend on the approach we take. I am a BACP (Accred) psychotherapist, a qualified EMDR trauma therapist, Gottman Institute couples therapist, and Gestalt group therapist, allowing me to tailor my approach to suit your needs.
We can work at the behavioral level to address how your behaviors may be impacting your life. We can also work at the value and belief level to address how long-held values and beliefs may no longer be serving you.
Alongside this, we can adapt the frequency and intensity of the sessions too. Some clients want to address their issues as quickly as possible and so I offer 1 to 2 day EMDR intensives to address the issues that have them seeking therapy. Others are looking for therapy on a regular weekly basis. Whilst others owing to the schedule may be looking for a more ad hoc approach.
Whichever style of therapy you are looking for and frequency you wish to take, we can look at how to best support you in working through your issues in a safe and supportive manner.
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
