About me
I am a qualified counsellor with a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP - Registered Member 390955). I welcome each client with their unique experience to work together from an integrative approach to counselling. I offer a safe, warm and empathetic therapeutic environment where clients can explore their issues, work through their struggles and move towards personal growth.
Counselling offers you a safe and confidential space where you can explore your struggles, mental health issues and inner conflicts. These can range from struggling with anxiety (including panic attacks) and/or depression (including low mood, feeling sad, suicidal thoughts) to dealing with stress (in your professional and personal life), burnout, relationship and family problems, low self-esteem and low self-confidence.
I value each person's autonomy and uniqueness. Whatever you choose to bring into our working relationship, I will respect and support you on the journey to a more content and peaceful state of mind.
My approach is non-directive which means that I will stand by your side, listen carefully in a non-judgemental way to your worries, thoughts and feelings. My role is to help you understand and accept yourself and come to your own conclusions. As our counselling relationship grows on the foundation of mutual trust, I may sometimes gently challenge your behavioural and thinking patterns if I notice contradictory ideas that hold you back or block your development.
Nevertheless, we will examine these together and you have my genuine support. I encourage self-acceptance, compassion to self and identifying your own resources to build self-esteem, resilience and confidence.
Training, qualifications & experience
I work with clients from diverse backgrounds and on a multitude of mental health issues and personal struggles, including anxiety (generalised anxiety disorder, panic attacks, social anxiety), depression and suicidal thoughts. I am trained in an integrative way, applying theory and practice from the Client-Centred Model (as developed by Carl Rogers) and integrating other humanistic therapies (Existential, Gestalt, Psychosynthesis) and Psychodynamic therapy. Furthermore, I have comprehensive knowledge and experience with Bereavement, Loss and Grief through the work I have been doing with the UK largest bereavement charity - Cruse Bereavement Support.
I offer counselling in three languages: English, Romanian and Spanish.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
