About me

Hello, I’m Holli, a qualified counsellor providing person centred therapy, trauma therapy and clinical hypnotherapy.

Sadly, challenging life events, poor mental health or trauma is something we all experience at some point in life.  These experiences may be happening now, have happened recently or perhaps a long time ago. You may have locked things away a box or tried to push them out of your mind and feel you finally need to deal with it. Or perhaps you just don’t feel yourself and you’re not sure what you’re coming to counselling for - you just want to feel differently or want something to change. Perhaps you feel alone, or that no one understands you, or you feel you and your needs are unimportant.

You are important and counselling is a safe space for you to work through your experiences, feeling seen, heard, and valued. In counselling, you are able to explore yourself on a deeper level, including  anything which is holding you back in life, this can empower you to make any changes you wish to make and lead the life you want and deserve.

From benefiting from counselling myself, I truly believe the experience can be life changing and can provide the, clarity, relief, healing or closure you have been seeking.

What can you expect from counselling with me?
I am warm, genuine and pride myself on the trusting relationships I build with clients.
We will explore what has brought you to counselling, any symptoms you are struggling with as well as exploring you on a deeper level. Self-exploration is immensely helpful as when you understand yourself better, you increase your self-compassion and confidence which can empower you to take control and make changes in your life.

You can expect a welcoming, safe environment free from judgement, where you will feel, accepted and able to be yourself to embark on your journey of self-discovery and personal growth.

I specialise in sexual violence/abuse and also work at RASA Merseyside.

Getting started in counselling
I can totally appreciate how overwhelming and confusing it can be to find the right counsellor and make sense of all the different types of counselling.

However, it is important that you take some time to find the right counsellor for you as the relationship with your counsellor is one of the most important factors for a positive and successful counselling experience.

I offer a free 20-minute appointment to new clients to help you establish if I’m the right counsellor for you and if you want to work together. We can explore what's bringing you to counselling and I can explain the type of counselling I offer. This is also a really helpful opportunity for you to ask questions and explore what you are hoping to get from counselling.

Sessions

I have a home office based in L13 so you can choose from in-person sessions or online sessions. I offer either weekly or fortnightly appointments and you can choose to have the same day/time appointment, or we can schedule our sessions flexibly on different days and times to fit with your personal/work life.

You can have short or long term therapy and we will review our sessions and work as we go along. Please note, I do not work with anyone under 18years.

If you would like to book your free initial 20-minute telephone/online appointment, you can contact me via email, text or WhatsApp, I will respond within 24 hours.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
