About me
Our lives at times may take us down a different path. That path may then become difficult to navigate. You may have experienced a traumatic event or have become overwhelmed with many things in day to day life and just looking to find a way forward.
As a BACP registered Psychotherapeutic Counsellor I work with you to find a way through. This may involve developing a better understanding of the situation you find yourself in by exploring your thinking and feeling.
My role is in helping you to help yourself.
Training, qualifications & experience
- Registered Psychotherapeutic Counsellor and membership with BACP and UKCP.
- Post Qualifying Diploma in Counselling Young People (8 to 18 years)
- In addition to my private practice, I have gained extensive experience of working with clients for a charity, using a trauma informed approach, supporting the recovery from sexual abuse.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Further information
Qualified as a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor to work with a range of client groups to offer face-to-face and online therapy. I work with clients in private practice offering longer-term and time limited counselling.
I have experience in working with all client groups to overcome a traumatic event in their lives. Extensive knowledge and the ability to provide emotional support, advice and guidance with an empathetic approach, when dealing with sensitive situations.
I make a regular commitment to CPD and other relevant training, significant to the work I do, to continue delivering therapeutic counselling and achieving positive outcomes.
I can use creative methods when working with all client groups, as part of forming the therapeutic working relationship.
