About me

I am an Integrative Psychotherapist with 15 years of experience working in the field of mental health. I have helped people from many different walks of life and seek to create a warm and safe environment that helps you explore whatever is causing difficulty in your life. My integrative approach provides the opportunity to adapt different therapeutic modalities to your individual needs. This allows for a focus on your uniqueness, empowering you to develop trust and confidence in your own inner guidance towards necessary change and growth.

Sometimes life can feel very difficult, and we can lose perspective about how to move forward. Maybe you are feeling anxious, sad or confused, and it seems too much to face alone. My intention is to help you create self-understanding, and encourage you to adopt new feelings, attitudes, and behaviours towards life situations. Mental health and wellbeing challenges affect everyone to some degree, and the extent to which they are experienced in no way shapes the validity or need for seeking help.

Starting therapy can feel daunting and overwhelming yet is a valuable and courageous step towards a better life. I offer the space to ask questions and share any concerns you may have to help you decide if I am the right therapist for you. To discuss, please email me for a free 15 minute telephone or video consultation.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have worked in the field of mental health since 2009, in non-profit organisations, community mental health, private practice clinics, and higher education. This includes both inpatient and outpatient treatment. I have extensive experience working with acute mental health conditions, and complex trauma in both crisis situations and longer-term recovery. A large part of this has included working with complex and diverse socio-economic needs, substantial grief and loss, and the multitude of life difficulties that can present as anxiety and depression. As a result, my therapeutic approach has significant depth, compassion, and understanding.

Member organisations

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
