About me
My name is Dr Harriet Hockaday, and I am a HCPC registered qualified Clinical Psychologist. I am an experienced and specialist therapist, who has worked in various mental health services within the NHS since 2014, including in adult mental heath, older adult psychology, child and adolescent mental health and neuropsychology services. I currently offer online and telephone based therapy to adults (18+) across the UK. I also offer face-to-face appointments in comfortable surroundings in Beith, North Ayrshire.
I provide a warm, welcoming, compassionate and non-judgmental space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings, to make sense of your life experiences, and to consider goals to improve your wellbeing. I draw from a number of evidence-based modalities including CBT, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT).
I offer a free 15 minute initial telephone consultation prior to commencing therapy, so that we can discuss your needs and goals and answer any questions you might have. I look forward to hearing from you

Member organisations
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
