About me

As a counsellor, I specialise in creating safe, non-judgemental therapeutic environments where people can work through their troubles and anxieties and understand their thoughts and behaviours. I have a background working with people from racially minoritised groups because everyone’s story matters. Going through life with ideas and thoughts that you may feel are ‘wrong’ ‘abnormal’ or ‘weird’ can be difficult. Having a counsellor, can help you gain clarity and see patterns. I currently offer online Zoom/Teams therapy sessions or telephone sessions.

I work in a person-centred way, which means the client is at the core of the session. As a client, this means you will be validated and heard and sometimes even challenged but most of all it will be a supportive and safe space. I work with people who are experiencing anxiety, depression, low self-esteem or those who are experiencing trauma from the past.

What to expect

During your first session it will be an assessment session. This is where I ask a series of questions about your experience with therapy before and some more questions about experiences and your background. This is just for us to get a feel and understand each other. If there is anything you feel uncomfortable about answering there won't be any pressure to, but the questions are not too invasive. I currently offer online Zoom therapy sessions or telephone sessions.

What can I help you with?

I can help with things such as anger management, anxiety, bereavement, child-related issues, cultural issues, depression, identity issues, loss, berevement, redundancy, relationships, low self-esteem, sexual identity, stress, trauma, women's issues and work-related issues and many more. I have worked with a variety of clients since 2019 and would love to work with you so you can increase your self-awareness, and help you find ways to work through problems or issues.

What's Next?

If you are interested in working with me and want to have a chat to ask some questions, I offer free 30-minute consultation calls so you can decide if you want to work with me. You can arrange these by emailing me here.

Training, qualifications & experience

I received my Post Graduate Diploma in Psychotherapy and Counselling  from the University of East London in 2020.

I also have a PhD - Management Studies, an MSc in Organisational Psychology and BSc in Psychology.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
