About me

*I work in Larkhall, Bath  on Mondays, Wednesdays and Friday. You can find me in central Bristol (near the hippodrome and Bristol Beacon) on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. Please contact me to arrange a time to meet.*

Sharing with someone who not only cares, but is professionally trained to offer support, insight and who can really 'get it' can be life changing. I can offer you a weekly respite from stress, anxiety and feelings of low self-esteem.

I can help you set clear boundaries, manage anxiety and depression, accept what might need to be accepted. Together we can explore whatever’s going on right now and perhaps find out how the past might be interrupting your present.

I see you and I as a team working in your best interests. We'll look at different perspectives, underlying issues and maybe even share a smile and a laugh alongside the tears.

Therapy can be challenging, empowering and enlightening. You may be surprised how your feelings and perspectives change as we work together on your more authentic future.

Like all ethical practitioners, I have been a therapy client myself. I know what it is like to sit in that chair; the frustrations and the 'ah ha!' moments. Clients tell me I’m ‘authentic’ and ‘real’ – I’m here to be me listening to you be all of who you are. I look forward to meeting you just as you are.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a fully insured, BACP registered, integrative psychotherapeutic counsellor who works with adults.

I am also an Integrative psychotherapist in the final stages of a Masters of Science qualification at Metanoia Institute, London.

Integrative psychotherapy training is a rigorous, six year process in which students learn a number of evidence-backed modalities. As a relational therapist, I am interested in understanding the relationship you have with yourself as well as the relationships you have with those around you.

I have experience working as an in-house trainer and phone listener at the Samaritans as well as having worked as part of a team of therapists at

  • The Harbour, a psychodynamic counselling service for death and dying in Bristol
  • Bath Mind, one on one counselling for the local community.
  • Breakthrough Trauma, as a facilitator of group therapy for trauma survivors.

Before working in the field of counselling and psychotherapy across Bath and Bristol I worked in the publicity departments of various film and television companies in London and have extensive experience working with writers, directors, actors and creatives.

I am an Individual member of the BACP (membership number: 01016850) and a training member of the UKCP (membership number: 2011185929). I abide by the organisation's ethical codes, as well as that of my institution, Metanoia.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
