About me

I offer weekly psychotherapy and counselling sessions both online and in person at my practice in Soho/Mayfair, W1, four minutes’ walk from Oxford Circus tube.

I am a Registered Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), and a member in advanced training of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).

Whatever the reason you choose to come to therapy, I offer a warm, relational approach in a space of absolute privacy.

The stories we tell ourselves about our lives define us. They can both empower and trap us. I offer a place to explore the narratives we live within - both those we create ourselves, and those which are created for us by others and the world.

As an existential-phenomenological practitioner, I work from your experience, rather than through any one predefined framework. We look at your values, your relationships, your broader world, and your inherited ideas and ways of being.

My practice is LGBTQ+ friendly, sex-positive and kink-aware. I am interested in supporting those in alternative lifestyles, as well as those experiencing sexual difficulties. I also hold a particular interest in working with bereavement and loss, and with issues around gender.

Please do contact me if you would like to talk through options, or if you have any questions, or visit my website to find out a little more.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a Masters in Existential Psychotherapy with Distinction from Regent’s University, and a Certificate of Higher Education in Psychodynamic Counselling from Birkbeck University. I am a member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) in advanced clinical training. I am a Registered Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), and a member of the Society for Existential Analysis. My first degree was a BA in English with First Class Honours from Cambridge University. I am a current recipient of the 2023-2024 Hans Cohn Scholarship for those studying or carrying out research in the field of existential psychotherapy. I have clinical experience both within the NHS and within low cost community organisations. I adhere fully to both the BACP and UKCP ethical codes, to which I am bound by membership.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Additional information

I offer a free 15 minute consultation by phone or online so that we can get a sense of how it might be to work together.

If we feel there’s a fit, and you would like to go ahead, I will then commit to a regular weekly time slot that works for you. We can agree on a set number of sessions to begin with, or keep it open, depending on what you would prefer.

I can also offer a block of 6 or 12 sessions for clients who have suffered a bereavement, or for whom a historic bereavement still causes significant distress.

I charge £60 for an online session, and £80 for an in person session in a comfortable private room in Soho/Mayfair, W1, four minutes' walk from Oxford Circus tube.

When I work

I currently have three face to face sessions available, on a Tuesday at 3pm, and on a Friday at 1pm and 3.30pm.
