About me

Feeling low but unsure why? Anxiety? Insecurities? Past issues affecting your life? If you are struggling with something in your life I am here to help you.

Hello, welcome to my profile page. I am Denise, an experienced and qualified Psychotherapist & Counsellor. I provide face to face, telephone and online counselling.

How I can help you.

It is not often that someone really listens to you and gives you a space to be heard without judgement. A space to understand more about yourself and gain understanding and clarity about your feelings.

I recognise that life can be really hard sometimes, trying to juggle different commitments, keep relationships and deal with whatever life throws your way. We all have difficult periods in our lives and times where we feel overwhelmed or like there is nowhere to turn.

I provide a safe and confidential space for you to talk to about your issues and concerns. I will help you explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours so you can develop a better understanding of yourself and of others. A space where you are treated with respect and able to be yourself without worry.

I will work at your pace and nerves are not a problem. I appreciate opening up to someone isn’t always easy. I aim to put you at ease and make it as easy as possible for you.

What will we talk about

What we talk about will depend on what it is you're seeking counselling for. We may explore a variety of areas such as your childhood, relationships, past and present events and situations you find difficult. You will be heard without judgement and it is an opportunity for you to open up to someone who has no agenda other than to support you.

Lots of clients worry that they do not know where to start or what to say.  There is no need to worry.  I am here to help.

I see you and I am here to offer the support you need. I am passionate about counselling and I firmly believe counselling can change your life for the better. I feel very privileged to be able to support you in this.

There is never any pressure, making that first enquiry is an opportunity to ask any questions, learn more about counselling and see how you feel when talking to me.

I'm ready if you are.

Next Steps.

In making contact there is never any pressure.  I am happy to talk to you about your needs and explain how I work.  Call or message, whatever you feel more comfortable with.  I look forward to hearing from you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
