About me
Choosing the right counsellor can feel like a big step, and finding someone you feel comfortable with is an important part of the process. I offer a warm, compassionate and non-judgemental space where children, young people and adults can explore their thoughts, emotions and experiences at their own pace.
I am an Accredited Member of the NCPS, with specialist training as a Level 5 Somatic Trauma Therapist and a Level 5 practitioner in working with neurodivergent clients. Alongside my counselling practice, I have over 18 years' experience supporting children and young people within educational settings. This has given me a deep understanding of the emotional, behavioural and mental health challenges that children, young people and their families can face.
I work using a pluralistic approach, recognising that every person is unique and that there is no single way to support healing and personal growth. Together, we will explore what works best for you, drawing on a range of therapeutic approaches to create a way of working that feels safe, collaborative and tailored to your individual needs.
I work with children, young people and adults, supporting clients experiencing anxiety, low mood, stress, trauma, bereavement, grief, emotional regulation difficulties, self-esteem issues, life transitions and relationship challenges. I also have specialist training in working with neurodivergent clients and understand the importance of adapting therapy to meet each individual's unique strengths, experiences and ways of processing the world.
As a Somatic Trauma Therapist, I recognise that trauma can be held not only in our memories but also within the body and nervous system. Where appropriate, I integrate body-based awareness into therapy to help clients regulate emotions, develop resilience and reconnect with a greater sense of safety and wellbeing.
Alongside individual therapy, I offer parental collaboration sessions to help parents better understand and support their child's emotional wellbeing. I believe that when parents and carers feel informed and supported, children are better able to flourish both at home and in school.
I also provide therapeutic support within local schools, delivering one-to-one counselling and facilitating group sessions that promote emotional wellbeing, resilience, confidence and healthy relationships.
Whether you are seeking support for yourself, your child or your family, my aim is to provide a safe, accepting and supportive environment where you feel heard, understood and empowered to move forward at your own pace.
If you have any questions or would like to discuss how we might work together, I would be happy to hear from you.
