About me

Hello, my name is Debbie. I am a qualified integrative, accredited therapist offering in person or online therapy to both adults and young people.

Being an integrative therapist means that my work can be adapted to meet my clients individual needs. This will be achieved by using different modalities such as ; person centred, cognitive behaviour therapy and psychodynamic therapy. I believe that this approach ensures the best outcome for my clients therapeutic journey with me.

I also work closely with local schools where I provide 1:1  therapy and group  interventions for young people. Focusing on areas such as anxiety, emotional regulation , ADHD and Autism and friendships.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a Prince's Trust level 5 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling Practice, Level 5 Professional diploma in Psychotherapy and Counselling which complements my Level 4 Counselling Diploma.

I have a 18 year educational background  which has put me in a valuable position when working with young people and their families. Towards the latter part of working in education I was a PSHE ( Personal ,Social. Health, Emotional ) cover teacher and a family support worker. I also completed my training as a volunteer counsellor at a secondary school.

I recently worked for a local children's mental health charity. This role saw me working closely with children ,their families and educational settings such as schools, colleges and universities.

I also provide work through an Employee Assistant Programme which provides online counselling to working professionals.

I partake regularly in CPD which provides me with further skills to enhance my practice.
I also recently trained as a trauma-informed practitioner covering subjects in; child abuse, trauma and the body (dissociation & somatization), working with dissociative disorders in clinical practice and working with shame and trauma-informed practice.

More recent CPD that I have taken is;

  • ADHD coaching (Diploma)
  • Cognitive Behaviour Therapy Diploma
  • Child Counselling Diploma
  • Inner Child Healing (Diploma)
  • Play Therapy Course
  • Art Therapy Course
  • Addiction Therapy Diploma
  • Child Sexual Abuse training
  • Working with Shame training

I believe that continual profession development is paramount in ensuring I stay up to date and relevant for my clients.
