About me

I understand that for some, therapy is a necessity and not a luxury, therefore I feel that it should be made more accessible for those who need it. For this reason, coupled with the ever-growing rise in the cost of living, I offer more affordable long-term therapy sessions in person and online for those who wish to learn about themselves, their relationships, their concerns and their choices in life.

I have completed my degree in Integrative Psychotherapy and I am registered with the BACP, I am also studying for a Master's in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy. I have completed further training in Mentalisation Based Therapy, Group Analytic and Compassion Focused Therapy. In my integrative approach, I draw on different areas of therapies depending on your current needs within a coherent framework for positive change.

Early childhood experiences shape our emotional lives and how we think and react to events in adult life. We are made up of all our life experiences, and the outcome of those experiences will be unique to each of us. Quite often, we find ourselves repeating negative patterns of behaviour or we feel unable to control certain aspects of ourselves that we would like to. Still, we don’t understand why or how. Psychotherapy addresses these issues by understanding how our past experiences may affect our present relationships and can lead to more confidence in ourselves, our relationships and better overall well-being.

I value each one of my clients and the therapeutic relationship that we build together. I recognise that we are all unique, with our own set of circumstances that have shaped our lives, therefore I draw on attachment theory to foster healthy and safe relationships, which allows for personal growth and development.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have completed my degree in Integrative Psychotherapy and I am registered with the BACP.

Integrated psychotherapy means that I have studied in depth, Person Centred, Psychodynamic, Existential and Cognitive Behavioural Therapies.

I have completed further training in Mentalisation Based Therapy, Group Analysis and Compassion Focused Therapy. In my integrative approach, I draw on different areas of therapies depending on your current needs within a coherent framework for positive change.

I am also currently studying for my MSc in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Other areas of counselling I deal with

Currently,  I am a psychotherapist in a specialist NHS service for personality disorders and complex trauma.

I have also worked extensively in a therapeutic community which is the gold standard in psychologically informed environments. This was situated in a medium secure inpatient service for high-risk offenders with severe personality disorder, with a history of violent and sexual offending, alongside being the victims of physical, sexual or emotional abuse themselves. I helped run an intensive psychodynamic therapy programme in the form of a modified therapeutic community.

Fees

£35.00 - £45.00

Additional information

I am currently able to offer in-person sessions at £45 in East Central London, a minutes walk from Liverpool Street Station.

I am also currently offering nationwide remote sessions over Skype or Microsoft Teams for £35 a session.

All sessions last 50 minutes and are open-ended.

The initial session is an opportunity to see how we can work together, explore your expectations and desired outcomes for therapy, and for you to ask any questions you may have regarding the process. Offering you a safe space to be seen and heard is my top priority.
