About me
Could you benefit from having a calming and safe place to talk outside of your family and friends to help you work-through and resolve the prevailing issues in your life?
Ways that Psychotherapy can benefit your life?
. to explore your thoughts and feelings and gain clarity.
. to better understand yourself and get back on the front foot again
. to remove the blocks that are hindering your progress in life pursuits.
. to feel understood in a non-judgemental space
. to harness your inner strength and resilience
. to cope better with the stresses and strains of everyday life.
My approach to therapy is Integrative and includes a relational Psychotherapeutic approach within which the dynamics of the unconscious mind are used to help you gain a deeper understanding of yourself. Freedom from the impact of past trauma, expression of repressed emotion, understanding of unwanted patterns of thought and behaviour. Ultimately therapy is to help you find your sense of contentment and to give you a greater sense of clarity and purpose, self-autonomy, and inner-resilience as tools to live your life with.
If you are facing challenges or hindrances in your life or feel that there are particular unwanted situations or experiences that keep on recurring, working with a Psychotherapist can help you to talk-through and express your difficulties, using words and an understanding of your feeling and emotions to uncover the meaning and reasons underneath the problems you are facing. I am an Integrative Relational Psychotherapist offering you a confidential, and calming space to explore your life and work-through the presenting issues based on your unique view of the world.
Psychotherapy is a way to explore and understand how past experiences relate to present day issues in life and provides a unique opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of our problems, learn how to cope and to improve overall mental health in meaningful ways that make a difference to your life.
Therapy also provides the space to reflect on our past experiences and see the connection to present patterns of thinking, reaction and relational behaviour. Therapy also facilitates greater insight into recurring patterns and situations so you can fully understand the reasons why certain situations recur in life so you can be in a position to make changes and create different outcomes.
The process of talking therapy is very cathartic and over time helps to alleviate distress and past trauma by finding the words to articulate the impact of traumatic experiences. Therapy is known to be therapeutic because it can facilitate self-expression of repressed feelings and emotions so that you feel mentally lighter and with a greater sense of well-being and purpose in your life.
If any of these questions speak of the problems you are currently facing then please contact me to arrange a free 30-minute telephone consultation to find out more about how I engage with my clients.
- Are you faced with repeated challenges and in need of a space to explore these?
- Do you suffer with Anxiety and would like to understand the reasons why and how to overcome this?
- Have you suffered with repeated periods in life where you have experienced low mood, Depression, or a lack of enthusiasm towards life?
- Do you have Alcohol or Drug (s) dependency and would like to go through a program of therapy to resolve the underlying issues and gain control of your life?
- Have you suffered with the effects of Trauma and would like to resolve the impact of these?
- Do you experience Anger and Frustration that is having an impact on your relationships with loved-ones or work situations?
- Did you go through adversity during Childhood and Adolescence that you would like to explore the impact of?
- Would you like to explore your relationships with Family Members or Friends and learn how to manage these challenges in different ways?
As therapy progresses and you become aware of the impact of past experiences and the adaptations, patterns of thought and behaviour associated with these it is possible to ‘work-through’ these in a meaningful way and create change in your life. As these patterns are worked-through and resolved each person’s facility of choice and self-autonomy tends to increase as they realise the previous motives behind their choices and actions. This enables people to take control and shape their life as they would like it be without past patterns getting in the way. A greater sense of satisfaction and fulfillment can be achieved, working towards a meaningful and contented life.
My aim is to help you develop greater self-awareness, self-autonomy, greater choice and freedom so that you have the necessary personal power and control of the direction of your life and can become the person that you want to be .
Cultural and Diversity
It should go without saying and be a given that my approach to therapy has always been diverse with people from all walks of life. Over the years I have worked with clients born in places such as Peru, Canada, Spain, France, Belgium. Switzerland, Germany, Rwanda, Haiti and many other places around the world. I work multi-culturally and understand the differing challenges we all face that relate to the complex topic of diversity, cultural, norms and expectations, identity and integration. I also have clients of various pro-nouns and sexual orientations who feel unjudged and very comfortable working with me.
The opportunity to talk through and resolve the impact of trauma related to issues of diversity and identity can be a very powerful and liberating experience with the opportunity to heal wounds from the past.

Introductory Session
If you would like to proceed beyond the initial call, I offer a 75-90 minute introductory session to establish a basis for working together and to go through the significant events in your life, mental health history and family history, with further exploration into your reasons for seeking therapy and your personal therapy-goals.
Weekly Sessions
Unlike many practitioners I offer 60-minute Psychotherapy Sessions in most instances with greater frequency for those that wish to engage in therapy in a more focused manner. Unfortunately, I do not offer sessions on a basis of less than weekly frequency. Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
