About me

I provide a comfortable place in a quiet village a few miles from Retford and close to Ollerton  and I usually see clients in an age range range from 25- 75 but I’m happy to see any one 18 and over. I would like to help you explore feelings about any anxiety in your life whether you are in a relationship or not and are struggling because of this. When you feel anxious, has something changed lately that you can’t explain  or is it your relationship that has changed? Is it your extended family dynamic that always makes you feel anxious when you have family get togethers? Anxiety in relationships can come from different places and talking about it can help you to manage those anxious feelings by learning new coping mechanisms that help you to be more mindful, more compassionate and able to cope in your everyday life.
We all carry emotional baggage from our parents and previous relationships, living through an abusive or coercive relationship can make you feel emotionally drained and this can impact your next relationship and learning to  trust again may be something we could explore.

I am a fifty+ woman who has 2 adult children both with ADHD and I know from experience how challenging and frustrating it can be. It damages careers, disrupts relationships, makes parenting harder, and can make people feel ashamed. The many challenges this condition presents can truly bring a person to tears and if this sounds like you and you would like some help then please get in touch.

If you think lately in your relationship there are tensions and more arguments than there used to be and it’s making you angry or depressed maybe you need to talk about these issues so you feel able to understand why you are angry and develop ways of managing it in a relationship. Depression can feel exhausting not just for the person with it but for their partner or family member also and this can be overwhelming and cause loneliness and a sense of isolation.

Even if your thoughts and worries seem trivial to you, finding out why they are bothering you could make a huge difference to your life. You may be concerned that your child hood up bringing feels different to other people’s and you would like to understand why you follow a certain pattern in a relationship or choose the wrong type of person and this is causing you to worry about why you keep making the same mistakes in relationships over and over again. Perhaps your are ruminating on those thoughts and losing sleep because you feel disconnected from people around you.  I could help you to change those patterns so that you understand how to be in a relationship without constantly giving in to everything they say and do.

Grief and loss of loved ones is also a factor in causing depression and you may be feeling stuck and unable to move on. If the behaviour of yourself or someone you care about has changed and they no longer want to go out or socialise, they are eating very little and have lost purpose in life, then I would like to help them so that they can find meaning and purpose again.
Whatever you or someone else you know are struggling with at the moment, I would like to help.

I work mainly as a person centred therapist but also using mindfulness to help clients relax if they are suffering from panic attacks. Each person is unique  so I often take a slightly different approach with each individual depending on what they have come for. I am also trained in IFS  this therapy can help in lots of ways in addictions, eating disorders, trauma but especially with CPTSD and allows the client to explore their trauma without reliving it.

I am offering a 10% discount to anyone on low income, benefits, students or working part time, so that you can access the help you need if you are struggling at the moment.

My therapy room is situated in a quiet village with adjacent parking, its private, warm and totally confidential. I supply water, tea or coffee and there is plenty of room on the sofa to get comfy and hopefully feel relaxed and able to discuss what’s on your mind.
