About me

Hello there, I am a Chartered Clinical Psychologist offering a confidential psychological assessment and therapy service to individuals in the Birmingham area.

I offer a professional service to individuals seeking help for a wide range of difficulties. I tailor therapy to suit the individual seeking help and offer in-depth assessment and formulation of the difficulties explored. Formulations help to enable the individual's understanding of the problems and psychological interventions provided help to reduce distress and empower the individual. The types of therapy I provide include cognitive behavioural therapy; solution-focused brief therapy; narrative therapy; short term dynamic therapies and mindfulness based approaches.

If you are wondering about starting therapy, it can be a daunting experience. My assessment sessions are really just a way to meet each other and to talk over what it is you are looking for. It is as much for you to see if I would be the right therapist for you as well as a way for me to see if I can be of help. It may be that you have found yourself at this point in your life 'stuck' and you are struggling to find a way through. I hope that I may be able to help you with that journey.

Sessions of 1 hour on a weekly basis are typically offered, however this arrangement is discussed in the initial assessment session, when an agreement is reached together based on your needs. Therapy is offered for as long as it is helpful to you. Some people find they only require a few sessions to help with their current difficulty and others find they need a longer time.

Please contact me by phone or by submitting an online form on this site and please have a look at my website for more details about me and the work I do.

Training, qualifications & experience

I qualified as a Clinical Psychologist from the University of Coventry & the University of Warwick. I have over 10 years experience of working therapeutically with vulnerable adults and children from many different walks of life, who have had a wide variety of psychological and social difficulties. I currently work in an Older Adult Mental Health service in the Midlands area. I am particularly interested in the impact of chronic health conditions (including brain injury) on a person's wellbeing.
